My iPad doesn't have cellular data

Sometimes, iPads feel like taking a day off and refuse to connect to carriers. Fortunately, we can fix that.

Before we begin, please make sure the following criteria are met:

  • Your iPads are charged and powered on.
  • Your iPads are connected to school (or home) WiFi.
  • Your iPads have a label on the box or their backs, indicating which carrier it belongs to.

AT&T

iPads automatically connect to AT&T when connected to WiFi. If it doesn't connect after 5 minutes, please get in touch so we can resolve it.

Verizon

Verizon iPads are a little more tricky, and require extra steps to resolve.

  1. Send us a ticket, explaining that your iPad doesn't have cellular.
  2. We'll derestrict your iPad so that it can connect to Verizon.
    1. At this point, the iPad will not have any content filtering or protections. Please do not distribute it to students.
  3. In Settings, tap on Cellular in the left-hand column.
  4. Tap on the Activate cellular plan... button on the right-hand side of the screen.
  5. When prompted, scan this QR code:
  6. Your iPad will begin connecting to Verizon.

Should your iPad fail to connect to Verizon after following these steps, please reach out to us as this is a problem beyond our control.
